We finally got off the boat In Miami around 9am I think. Randy and I rented a car so we could tool around for a while before heading up to Ft Lauderdale for our flight home. First up: MARLINS PARK.
We were walking around the outside of the stadium (okay, Randy was walking. I was slightly walking super fast) We rounded a corner by some construction equipment, and there was a huge garage door open. It was right in center field, and there was a security guard sitting there. I asked if we could go in and look for a second, and he said no, we could only walk up to the door. We saw them replacing the turf. We started chatting, and when I told him that I’d been to 21 MLB stadiums so far, and my brother, dad, and nephew came down for a Twins game last year, he said, “Welllllll I guess you can come in and take a peek real quick.” 🙌🏼
IT WAS AWESOME.
Then we hit up Miami Beach, and drove to Dania Beach before heading to the airport. At least it wasn’t as long of a travel day as going to Florida. Layover in Chicago. The White Sox grill was closed, however.
